Our introductory products include a replica M4 Carbine 43 caliber (11mm) paintball marker with similar weight, dimensions and feel to the genuine rifle. S-Thunder’s paintball marker functions with similar trigger pull / choking effort and is able to fire 3 paintballs per second as per the real rifle. A more powerful 370 - 400 fps marker for military / police will soon be available and AK-47, sniper rifle and double barrel shotgun markers will be available. Our paintball markers utilize S-Thunder’s design patents for,- minimizing gas usage (shoots 30 - 40 paintballs per 12g CO₂ cartridge for 270 - 300 fps version)- shooting accuracy (bottom spin rotation of the paintball)

Our gas landmines are designed for durability and multiple use. S-Thunder pressure activated landmines either shoot water or smoke powder with an exploding sound. A pressure release (ie foot release) landmine which can be used with water or smoke powder will soon be available along with other types of landmines and bombs.

Our gas grenades are able to shoot BB pellets or paintballs with a loud exploding sound and adaptable with all grenade launchers in the market. Other types of gas grenades and launchers will become available in the coming months.Our CO₂ gas accessories have been extensively tested and able to contain CO₂ charges for several months. S-Thunder created special rubber compound for the O-rings to prevent gas leakage as current O-rings available within the marketplace deform due to the extensive CO₂ temperature and pressure variations.

Now, the beat goes on. Paintball players at the 2009 MAXS European Masters paintball tournament in Bitburg, Germany were treated to the unveiling of the all new Smart Parts Impulse. Smaller, faster and smoother than its legendary predecessor, the Impulse is built to exceed the needs of today’s professional tournament paintball player.

“The Classic Impulse was a phenomenally successful marker and players have been asking us to bring it back for some time,” said Smart Parts Vice President, Adam Gardner, “but we weren’t going to do it until we could do it right. That all came down to perfecting a new valve and dual-regulation system that gives us the speed and gas efficiency players expect from a poppet valve marker, combined with the smooth kick-free shooting that we deliver in our best spool valve paintguns.”

True to its heritage, the Impulse is a stacked tube marker, but this isn’t just a modification of the Classic, it is an all new marker with a more compact design, and numerous new features including:

* Pressure balanced poppet valve allowing 1700 to 1800 shots from a 4500 psi 68ci system
* Dual regulation allowing extremely low bolt force and eliminating kick
* Air buffered firing piston shoots smoother with less vibration

* Freak compatible barrel system accepts bore inserts for changing paint sizes
* Trigger based programming with modes for all major leagues and scenario use
* Q-Lock feedneck quickly clamps and adjusts to all high performance hoppers

“The keys to the new Impulse design are its valve and regulators.” says Hans Semelsberger, Smart Parts’ Director of Technical Sales. “Most poppet valves are pushed closed by the air inside, so when the pressure is right for good efficiency, you have to hit them pretty hard to knock them open, and that shakes the gun, throwing off your aim. Our pressure balanced valve lets the air pressure push forward and backwards on the valve core at the same time. Those forces cancel each other out and the valve opens easily regardless of the pressure inside. It’s so soft, I can push it open with my little finger. Because the valve opens so easily, we are able to use two-stage regulation to drive the firing piston with very low pressure gas. That makes the Impulse gentle on paint, and lets it shoot without kick.”

Well I guess I was 75% right about a new gun from Smart Parts. The new 2008 Luxe made it official debut in HB. Looks nice and small and sounds like a treat. The $1500 price tag is a turnoff but as always - if you build it they will come.

The valve and air handling systems of the Luxe eliminate common failure points and provide for full cleaning and lubrication of the bolt, valve, ball detents and anti-chop components in seconds, without tools. “It really is unbelievable,” said Rocky Knuth, a professional player and owner of the Seattle Naughty Dogs, who has had the opportunity to rigorously test Luxe prototypes for several months. “I can have the entire bolt and valve assembly out of the Luxe as fast as I can pop open a can of soda.”

The only reason for the allen wrench is to open the grips. I have held and shot this gun at the CFOA yesterday and if it wasnt for that ****ed up price tag and the NXT threads I would shoot one of these guns. it is soooooooo light. The speaker tells you everthing you want about your gun and can do it in 5 languages. The detents are similar to Angel Magnetic Detents. The hinged internals can be pulled even if the gun is aired up. Not a fan of the trigger but thats personal preferenceand trigger doesnt matter with ramping. The stock ASA runs on an internal hose system but you can change out your reg and asa to run a macro line if you want. In the picture you are seeing the stock ASA with a tank on it thats the fill nipple. The battery is a rechargable cell phone style battery you get 50000 shots off one charge. If the battery dies you take the two screws out from the speaker pull the quick disconnect plugin your new battery and go.

Rocky Cagnoni to DYE

He's still and Angel man to me!

Legendary Avalanche front man Rocky Cagnoni is now an employee of DYE Precision.
Cagnoni 36, is best known for his antics in the movie "Push" and while playing for Team Avalanche in the late 1990's and early 2000's. He was one of the first ever sponsored players in the sport, while being regarded as one of the best front/snake players in the game at the time. He represented WDP for several years, both using the product and lending his name to limited edition markers.

Cagnoni was at the PSP Phoenix event, but he spent the majority of his time in the truck moving product around. Cagnoni has confirmed that he'll be at the NPPL Huntington Beach event working in the DYE Booth there, which was just announced today by the NPPL.

The Assault Pack is a perfect example of the collaboration between designers and athletes. Our design team meticulously picked apart every harness available. We sat down with our professional players and picked their brains on the most elite pack they could think of. Then we let our design team do their thing. The first item of concern has always been reducing the weight. We were able to accomplish this by utilizing new materials in different configurations and reducing the overall weight by 5oz! PSP Format Update 20 for the 2008 Season

Well it might not be the 20th update but it seems that more changes have been implemented.

Division 1 XBall

Division 1 matches will consist of a race to 7 points run on a 15 minute clock. Teams will switch sides after every fourth game point scored. Rosters will be capped at a total of 17 people with a maximum of 12 players allowed. A limit of 2 professional players will be permitted on the roster.

Division 2 XBall

Division 2 matches will consist of a race to 7 points run on a 15 minute clock. Teams will switch sides after every fourth game point scored. Rosters will be capped at 17 people with a maximum of 12 players allowed. A limit of 2 D1 players will be permitted on the roster. No professional players will be allowed.

Division 3 XBall

Division 3 matches will consist of a race to 5 points run on a 15 minute clock. Teams will switch sides after every third game point scored. Rosters will be capped at 17 people with a maximum of 12 players allowed. A limit of 2 D2 players will be permitted on the roster. No D1 or professional players will be allowed.

Overtime Play changes for Divisional XBall

The following overtime format will be used for all Divisional XBall; this includes Divisions 1, 2, and 3. This does not affect 5-man XBall.

For 2008, the sudden death overtime period has been increased to 5 minutes instead of 3 minutes, as in 2007. The 90 Second rule will still be in effect during this 5 minute sudden death, meaning that a MAJOR penalty received by a player in the last 90 seconds of this overtime period, will cause immediate stoppage of play and the winning point to be awarded to the opposing team.

If the 5 minutes of sudden death play passes without a winner, the teams will then proceed to the 60 second 1-on-1 matchups that have been used in the past in Divisions 2 and 3.

As in the past, a win will still equal 2 points, a loss will be 0 points, and a loss in overtime will equal 1 point.

The upgraded internals for the Angel 1 have been discussed and a big topic of conversation on many boards since the middle of last year. WDP has finally put a name, date, and price on them - MAGNO, FEBRUARY, & $129.99.

I am sure as few of you are aware, FMA and WDP were just recently down at JT USA providing a A1 tech course. At this course we were able to release and show the new upgraded internals for the A1. The new internals are amazing and have made the KISS technology and air usage of the A1 better and hard to believe even smoother. We have been testing the internals for some time now and very happy with the results. We are hoping to post some photos today and as soon as we have a target date (very soon BTW) and pricing you will see it here first. SPPL - Low Country Paintball to Host 2008 World Championship

Good for Low Country! I can't really comment on the field, never been, but everything I have read about it makes me want to visit.

The SPPL (Scenario Paintball Player's League) will hold its 2008 World Championship Finals at Low Country Paintball in Ludowici, Georgia, on October 11-12, 2008.

The site of the 2007 and 2008 SPPL Southeast Qualifiers, the field provides superior terrain, with tall pines, thick woods, and tons of natural and man-made bunkers, plus exemplary customer service from "The Famous" Billy Smith and his staff.

"There are so many great paintball fields in the country, it wasn't easy to select just one as the host of the 2008 SPPL World Championship," said SPPL president Jayson Nielson. "But the terrain, southern hospitality, and the climate in that part of the country in the fall all contributed to our decision. Based on our past experiences at Low Country, we know we made the right choice."

The SPPL enters 2008 with a new structure and national ranking system. A total of six first place prize packages will be awarded at the World Championship event. Winners of the Finals in the Rookie, Masters and Elite Divisions will be named Championship Winners, with accompanying prize packages. Prizes will be awarded for second through fourth place finishes, as well.

Additionally, those who place in the top slot in each division based on their points in the National Rankings will be recognized at the event. The first place winners for the 2008 SPPL Series will receive their awards for the season, as they are crowned SPPL World Series Champions. Players ranked second through fourth will also receive series prize packages or, in the Rookie division, trophies.

The 2008 World Championship Finals is open to any team that wants to compete. Teams need not place in the top five in a Qualifier to attend, although a team's top score at a Qualifier will be used to seed the team at the Championship Finals. A team's two top Qualifier scores, plus their Championship Finals points, plus any affiliate, reffing and sportsmanship points, will be added up to determine the team's national ranking at the end of 2008.

"In 2008, the SPPL has stepped up to become a tournament series rather than stand-alone, qualifying events," Nielson explained. "This new structure, organized the same as the PSP and NPPL pro tournament leagues, will encourage participation in the SPPL and earn nationally-ranked teams even more attention from the media and from potential sponsors."

I find it interesting that paintball companies feel the need to have a press release stating that that their prices are going up. What if Exxon or Shell did this every time gas prices increased or if your local grocery store sent out flyers with warnings about food that cost more than last week. The prices on consumer goods are on the rise and have been for some time, that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. If you need a new product buy it but if what you have isn't more than a year or two old and is in perfect working order then hold off another year. You don't have to have the latest and greatest all the time. Believe me, I understand wanting to have the newest, fastest, coolest, etc. but I bet 99% of you will survive with what you have. In the end just remember you're way better off than most!

Paintball Sports Promotions has updated the rules concerning markers and rate of fire for the 2008 Season. Beginning today, the rules will be as follows:

7.3.6. A marker may fire at a maximum rate of 13.33 balls per second.
7.3.6.1. A player on the field of play during a game whose marker shoots more than one paintball within 65 milliseconds will receive a gross penalty.
7.3.6.2. A player on the field of play during a game whose marker shoots more than one paintball within 70 milliseconds will be assessed a major penalty.
7.3.6.3. A player on the field of play during a game whose marker shoots more than one paintball within 75 milliseconds* will be assessed a minor penalty.

* A measurement of 75.0 milliseconds or higher is acceptable. A measurement of 74.9 milliseconds or lower will be penalized.

- If Bushwackers do infact play NXL it will be because the Shows Bro’s are given a spot on the team because Gary owns the spot.

- XSV loses Eclipse sporsorship but keeps Draxxus.

- Timmy Propst, Bryan Smith, and Mike Carthy sign on with Damage.

- Brandon Short offered 40k a year to play with Russians but Dye matched the offer to stay with Ironmen. Short will wear the sheild again in 08.

- JRab and Lucian are the newest American Russians, there are a few others still in the tryout process. I hear they are looking to pick up atleast 1 more.

- Looks like even more changes on the NXL horison, the most current rule change debate is regarding changing the format to a race to 7 points.

- The Tiljack to Ironmen rumor has been overturned. He was offered a spot but will remain with Avalanche in 08.

- I have heard the Ironmen offered Gerald Garcia a spot on the team and have a short list of players for a closed tryout coming up soon. More on this later.

There should be a new platform coming out sometime in the next month or so. They don’t have an event available to premier it at before the end of the season (they don’t attend NPPL) so when they release it is purely speculation.
Someone at the SP tent at cup confirmed that to me, it would make sense that they would go ahead and make a Dynasty version of their top of the line gun. He hinted that the new gun was gonna be high end, not like the different variations of the ION series like was available at Cup.

With eight major five-man events and five divisional XBall events, the league will for the second straight year promote thirteen tournaments. PbNation Skydeck Project - Ideas Please

Hey here is a project we are doing for 2008 and we need your help and ideas.

We want to tap into the genius that is PbNation and see what suggestions and unique elements we can add to the PbNation Skydeck before it hits the road in 2008. PbNation will be customizing an Airstream Skydeck motor coach to travel to large events and for a planned tour of paintball fields this summer. It has all the basics but we wanted to add some more stuff and toys to really load it up.

Let us and the nation know what your ideas are…

The Skydeck
The PbNation Skydeck is a unique vehicle as only about 100 of these units were every made and this one will be refurbished and customized specifically for use by PbNation staff, members and sponsors. The Skydeck is a two story motor coach with a patio deck for 15 on the top floor.

On the inside in the front is a stairwell to the top deck (only interior stairwell on a motor coach).

In the midsection will be another sofa and Pullman bunk with a dropdown TV. (This is a custom add so no pictures). In the rear is a bedroom that will be replaced with a lounge with two sofas, big screen TV and audio system and other goodies.

The Process
In the next few weeks Doug, Leonard and the very creative staff at Sagon RV will be ripping stuff out of the unit and adding the custom components to make it very unique and very special. They need to know ASAP about what to put into the coach. This is your chance to participate by adding suggestions and letting us and Sagon know what you think should be added to the motor coach. Get on it and let us know what you would like to see happen.

We are all excited about the possibilities and the finished product. We will be taking pictures and videos as the project progresses.

2008 PSP ROF 13.33...

Why 13.33 and not 13 or 14? I like the idea of less paint which I expect will mean bigger moves and more movement from the players. Shit, let's just go back to pump ;)

I said that I would announce what we are doing here this week. I thought that I would have a final answer. I don’t.

There will be a reduction in legal fire rates beginning in 2008.

If you do not have a board that is able to adjust below 15bps, you will need to get access to another board, or have your board reprogrammed to allow you to operate your gun at a lower rate.

PSP has made a decision as to what we think is best. We are withholding a final decision while waiting for additional discussion with industry and outside industry groups who weigh heavily on this decision.

The moment that I have a final number, I will post it here.

I would recommend that people start to do what is necessary for their guns to operate at around 13.33 bps. I would also recommend that teams start to practice at this rate.

That’s what I have to say for now. I may have a definitive or specific answer as early as the first week of January. As soon as a specific number is decided, there will be a press release as well as a post on PbNation reflecting this decision.

The National Professional Paintball League (NPPL) is kicking off the first event of the 2008 Super 7 World Series of Paintball in Huntington Beach, California. The 220 top paintball teams from around the world will be competing March 28th - 30th on six fields set up on the beach just south of the famous Pier Plaza and over 80,000 spectators are expected to attend.

Paintball is a game based on the traditional format of Capture the Flag. The exciting Super 7 format matches two seven-man teams against each other on a field about the size of a tennis court with a number of inflated shapes that offer some cover to the players. Each game lasts a maximum of 7 minutes and whichever team eliminates the other and captures the opposing teams flag wins the entire match. The action is fast and furious.

SPPL Introduces Divisional Play, National Rankings for 2008 Season

The SPPL woodsball tournament league has always put players first. In 2008, to make the league even more fun for new players while offering veterans the challenge they crave, the SPPL introduces DIVISIONAL PLAY!

This change is a natural step in the growth of the premier woodsball tournament league and a direct response to requests from the players.

“Now, even beginning players who’ve never done anything but rec-ball can sign up in the Rookie Division and have the chance to become champions in their own right,” says league President Jayson Nielson. “We’ve always been a player-friendly league. The players asked for divisional play, and we came up with a system that will work for woodsball players of every level.”

SPPL teams will fall into one of three classifications: Elite, Masters & Rookie.

SPPL Elite Player—Any player who has been rostered as an Elite Player in more than one SPPL Major Event/Qualifier or was rostered on a 7-player NPPL Pro or Semi-Pro team or NXL Professional team or PSP X-Ball Open Class team within the previous 5 years or any player who has placed in the top two at any SPPL Major Event /Qualifier would be classified Elite.

SPPL Masters Player — Any player who has competed in more than one SPPL Major Event/Qualifier in a previous season.

SPPL Rookie Player— Any player who has not played in more than one SPPL Major Event/Qualifier in the prior season, and has no major National Tournament (PSP, NXL or NPPL) experience at any level.

A Rookie SPPL team may have 2 Masters players on their roster. A Masters SPPL team is permitted to have 2 Elite players on their roster. To enforce division classifications, the SPPL will issue a photo player ID card, like those used in the NPPL and PSP tournament leagues, to every competitor.

The introduction of divisional play is just one of many refinements to the scenario tournament league this season. The SPPL will also implement a National Rankings structure based on each team’s performance at SPPL Major Qualifier Events and the Grand Championship. Teams will earn points based on their ranking at each event and will have the opportunity to earn additional points by organizing authorized SPPL Feeder Tournaments at their home fields.

The league has also introduced a handful of rules changes, a new pricing structure and tons of new prizes at the Elite and Masters levels. “For about the same price as a day of rec-ball,” Nielson says, “players can enjoy a first-class tournament experience, with the chance to win trophies or prizes and earn a spot in the national rankings.”

Naughty Dogs Fetch Tyler Harmon

It's been a few days... Rocky Knuth has announced that the Naughty Dogs will be playing with Tyler Harmon for the 2008 season. Yes, he is a full time Dog playing both PSP and NPPL with them. I am happy for them, being a ND fan back when they were WGP at heart I can't help but still pull for them. Hopefully this will help them reach the top podium in 2008!!

PSP Paint Rule Change

Let's limited the ROF so less paint is used in the tournament. Then limit the sellers of paint to the companies that shell out the sponsorship money. If this continues all teams will have to shoot Dye Matrix Guns & Paint because they will get some exclusive deal....

Paintball Sports Promotions is gearing up for the 2008 season. Our schedule includes a return to some tried and true locations as well as a few new ones. With the most popular formats, the best referee corp in the world, and the most comprehensive ID and classification system available, we’re looking forward to another successful year.

For the 2008 season, paint may be purchased onsite at each event from one of the PSP sponsors. Numerous companies will be offering a wide selection of the most technologically advanced paint available on the market today. Featuring tournament grade fills, consistent accuracy, and proven performance, you’re sure to find top quality paint at competitive prices.

While teams may still bring their own paint to the event, only sponsor-brand paint will be allowed. Red and pink fill will also be unacceptable.

Staining paint will not be allowed. PSP and our paint sponsors are working together on a formula that will continue to provide high quality tournament level paint without the staining quality.

PSP Format Update for the 2008 Season

Shorter games & harder to come back from a few down.... Closer to the NPPL format & ultimately cheap to play (less paint will be shot). I still want to see more scenario on TV!

After our most successful season yet, PSP is excited to be moving forward toward an even better 2008 Season.

As always, we are raising the bar for tournament paintball and feel the following format changes will continue to make XBall more accessible to everyone. These changes will help lighten the load on teams with limited sponsorship allowing them to continue playing the best format in competitive paintball.

Division 1 XBall
Division 1 matches will consist of a race to 7 points run on a 15 minute clock. Teams will switch sides after every fourth game point scored. Rosters will be capped at a total of 17 people with a maximum of 12 players allowed. A limit of 2 professional players will be permitted on the roster.

Division 2 XBall
Division 2 matches will consist of a race to 7 points run on a 12 minute clock. Teams will switch sides after every fourth game point scored. Rosters will be capped at 17 people with a maximum of 12 players allowed. A limit of 2 D1 players will be permitted on the roster. No professional players will be allowed.

Division 3 XBall
Division 3 matches will consist of a race to 5 points run on a 12 minute clock. Teams will switch sides after every third game point scored. Rosters will be capped at 17 people with a maximum of 12 players allowed. A limit of 2 D2 players will be permitted on the roster. No D1 or professional players will be allowed.

Since acquiring their new Senior Sales and Marketing Manager - Owen Ronayne (previously of Angel) - Badlands Paintball in Toronto have wasted no time in also securing exclusive distribution rights with Angel Paintball Sports for Canada, this deal being inked just 2 weeks after Owen's move to the frozen north.
