No entry fee, cheap paint, amateur teams, oh and a huge cash prize - What a tournament!!
After a series of exciting games in Los Angeles featuring competitors from as far away as Florida and southern Mexico, Dynasty Entourage successfully won THE biggest prize in paintball at the conclusion of the Spyder Cup Grand Finale! The three-man team walked away with $120,000 in cash after playing the two-day event using only Spyder markers! No professional or semi-professional players were allowed to compete, thus creating a more fun and “beginner friendly” atmosphere at each of the four Spyder Cup events. Of course, with such a huge prize package on the line, competition became very serious as the top teams moved into the finals on Sunday.
Aside from the $120,000 cash won by Dynasty Entourage, an additional $40,000 was awarded to Glenn Forster of Warped Sports, the Spyder dealer who supported the winning team! Hollywood HK won a prize package equaling $9,000 for second place, and LA Hitmen took home almost $5,000 in prizes for third.
Well over 200 teams competed in the Spyder Cup series this year, for many of them it was their first tournament experience! With no entry fee and only $50 for a case of 2,000 tournament-grade Spyder paintballs, the Spyder Cup clearly provides the best cost to prize ratio of any tournament in the world! Where else can a three-player team have a shot at winning three Hummer H2s for nothing more than a case or two of paintballs and a whole lot of fun along the way?!
